The "Nixon Plan" - Flood Congress with Impeachment Resolutions
The impeachment of Richard Nixon in 1974 provides an excellent model for impeaching Bush and Cheney. Members of Congress submitted nearly 100 resolutions in 1973 and 1974 calling for impeachment or related investigations of Richard Nixon. The House Judiciary Committee voted on Articles of Impeachment but Nixon resigned before the full House could vote on them.
The National Coalition of "We The People" is urging members of Congress to follow a similar plan to impeach Bush and Cheney. Several members of the coalition flew to Washington DC in February of 2008 and met with members of Congress and their staff. There was interest from several members but they said they needed to hear from their constituents before they would act. Please contact your Representative and ask them to "flood congress with Impeachment resolutions".
